How Do You Do Theatre Night?

Holly and Clint Fisher

Earlier this spring, I was trying to think of a creative way to get more people interested in going to the theatre. My client, The Footlight Players, was kicking off its 85th season of doing theatre in Charleston – quite a milestone for sure. But how could we get more people to come out and see a production? I was sharing this with my husband, and we started brainstorming some ideas. He channeled his inner Don Draper and came up with this “theatre night” concept. Through photos, we’d show people engaging in different activities before and after going to a show at Footlight. It was a like a date night but with a theatrical twist.

As the weekend approaches, couples and friends start thinking about what they want to do over — dinner, drinks, a movie, a festival. Why not put “theatre” on that list. So that’s how this concept was born and the photos turned out great – thanks to our photographer Stan Foxworthy. We’ll be sharing these images over the next several months, asking people how they “do theatre night.”

Here’s a sample of the ads and please connect with The Footlight Players to see more and share your own theatre night fun using the #theatrenight hashtag.
